Why We Are Introducing Mid-Season Coach Evaluations

Our goal is to ensure this process will help with the following:

• Reduce unresolved issues carrying into future seasons
• Ensure policies and conduct expectations are being upheld
• Support coaches before challenges become formal complaints
• Maintain consistent expectations across all teams
• Support positive communication, sportsmanship, and player development
• Create documented feedback for continuous improvement
• Protect the overall integrity and reputation of the association

Mid-season evaluations are not disciplinary in nature. They are intended as a support and development tool, allowing coaches and the association to work collaboratively toward a successful remainder of the season while maintaining a safe, respectful, and inclusive hockey environment.

Coach & Team Manager Evaluations

All coach and team manager evaluations submitted to CNN Minor Hockey are sent directly to the following Executive members only:  The President, Vice President 1 - Business, and Vice President 1 - Operations. All three Executives receive and review each evaluation submitted.

While a name is required on evaluation forms for accountability purposes, parent and guardian identities remain confidential and are not shared with coaches or team managers. This allows the Executives to review feedback appropriately and intervene when necessary, while ensuring respectful and constructive communication.

Evaluation feedback is reviewed internally by these three Executive members only and is used to support team operations, address concerns, and maintain consistent standards across the association.
